What We Do

PNCI assists legislators by:

Serving as a resource on issues, legislation, and strategy
PNCI facilitates the sharing of policies, legislation, and best practices among lawmakers. Specifically, PNCI provides parliamentarians with draft legislation and talking points to counter pro-abortion arguments, as well as accurate and timely data and research on key issues including abortion methods, sex selective abortion, harmful consequences to women, fetal pain, embryonic stem cell research, cloning, pregnancy resource centers, violence against pregnant women, and maternal mortality.

Uniting Lawmakers in a network to offer support and encouragement
PNCI offers a forum through which parliamentarians can show support, offer encouragement, and share experiences with their international colleagues.

Promoting Life Affirming Solutions for Maternal Mortality
PNCI works to protect the lives of unborn children and provide life-affirming solutions to maternal mortality. Real solutions that will reduce global maternal mortality rates depend on access to health care, especially essential obstetrical care, and pregnancy resource centers to help meet the real needs of women. Measures to reduce maternal mortality include: access to safe and sanitary birthing centers, clean birthing kits, childbirth assisted by skilled birth attendants, access to emergency obstetric treatment, antibiotics, and clean blood for transfusions.  Legalizing abortion can never be considered a so-called solution to reduce maternal deaths. Abortion causes death by blood loss and infection, especially in developing countries.

Helping to build pro-life leadership groups
PNCI believes that legislators can be most effective in advancing the pro-life cause when they work across political parties in a pro-life caucus or working group assisted by pro-life organizations, like-minded NGOs, and church leaders. PNCI helps to form pro-life caucuses in legislatures to establish sustainable pro-life leadership.
